Day 1: Chandigarh to Narkanda (Approx. 180 km / 6–7 hours)

Your journey to the spectacular Spiti Valley begins from Chandigarh. Drive through the scenic route via Shimla to Narkanda, a peaceful town surrounded by pine forests and apple orchards. Enjoy the cool mountain breeze and serene surroundings. On arrival, check into your hotel. Overnight stay in Narkanda.

Day 2: Narkanda to Sangla / Chitkul (Approx. 180 km / 7–8 hours)

After breakfast, begin your journey towards the breathtaking Baspa Valley. Drive to Sangla, one of the most beautiful valleys in Himachal. If time permits, continue to Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. Explore the traditional wooden houses, riverside scenery, and Himalayan views. Overnight stay in Sangla or Chitkul.

Day 3: Sangla/Chitkul to Kalpa (Approx. 60 km / 3–4 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Kalpa, a quaint town overlooking the majestic Kinner Kailash range. On the way, stop at Reckong Peo, the district headquarters of Kinnaur. In Kalpa, visit the Suicide Point, Roghi Village, and enjoy the panoramic mountain views. Overnight stay in Kalpa.

Day 4: Kalpa to Tabo via Nako (Approx. 160 km / 7–8 hours)

Today’s drive takes you deeper into the Trans-Himalayan region. En route, stop at Nako Lake, a serene and sacred lake surrounded by willows and poplars. Visit Giu Village to see the 500-year-old mummy of a monk. By evening, reach Tabo, home to one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas, often called the “Ajanta of the Himalayas.” Overnight stay in Tabo.

Day 5: Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar and Pin Valley (Approx. 80 km / 5–6 hours)

In the morning, visit the Tabo Monastery and then proceed towards Dhankar Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff. En route, take a detour to Pin Valley National Park, home to snow leopards and Himalayan wildlife. By evening, arrive at Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley. Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 6: Kaza Local Sightseeing (Key Monastery, Kibber, Hikkim, Komic, Langza)

Spend the day exploring the gems around Kaza. Visit the iconic Key Monastery, perched atop a hill. Then head to Kibber Village, one of the highest inhabited villages. Continue to Hikkim (home to the world’s highest post office), Komic (one of the highest villages in Asia), and Langza, known for its Buddha statue and marine fossils. Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Kaza to Chandratal Lake via Kunzum Pass (Approx. 100 km / 6–7 hours)

Begin your adventurous drive towards Chandratal Lake, crossing the high-altitude Kunzum Pass (14,931 ft). On arrival, enjoy the surreal beauty of Chandratal – a crescent-shaped lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Spend your evening near the lake in a campsite (conditions permitting). Overnight stay in camps at Chandratal.

Day 8: Chandratal to Manali (Approx. 120 km / 6–7 hours)

After breakfast, begin your drive to Manali via the rough and scenic Batal–Gramphu route and cross the Atal Tunnel. Arrive in Manali by evening and relax after the long journey. You can explore the local market or enjoy a warm dinner. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 9: Manali to Chandigarh (Approx. 300 km / 8–9 hours)

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Chandigarh with unforgettable memories of rugged mountains, ancient monasteries, peaceful villages, and starry skies. Reach Chandigarh by evening, concluding your Spiti Valley expedition.
