Day 1: Chandigarh to Narkanda (Approx. 180 km / 6–7 hours)

Your Spiti Roadway Retreat begins with a scenic drive from Chandigarh to Narkanda, a charming town nestled in the pine forests of Himachal Pradesh. En route, pass through Shimla and Kufri, witnessing beautiful views of the hills. On arrival in Narkanda, check into your hotel and relax amidst the cool mountain air. Overnight stay in Narkanda.

Day 2: Narkanda to Kalpa (Approx. 180 km / 7–8 hours)

After breakfast, head toward Kalpa, one of the most picturesque destinations in Kinnaur district. As you drive through Rampur and Reckong Peo, the landscape transitions from green valleys to rugged Himalayan terrain. On arrival in Kalpa, enjoy views of the Kinner Kailash peaks and visit nearby sites like Suicide Point and Roghi Village. Overnight stay in Kalpa.

Day 3: Kalpa to Tabo via Nako (Approx. 160 km / 7–8 hours)

Today, continue your journey deeper into the Trans-Himalayan region. Stop at the scenic Nako Lake, a sacred high-altitude lake surrounded by prayer flags. Proceed to Giu Village, where you can see the 500-year-old mummy of a Buddhist monk. Arrive at Tabo, home to the 1,000-year-old Tabo Monastery, often called the ‘Ajanta of the Himalayas’. Overnight stay in Tabo.

Day 4: Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar Monastery (Approx. 50 km / 3–4 hours)

After morning darshan at Tabo Monastery, drive to the Dhankar Monastery, dramatically situated atop a cliff overlooking the Spiti River. This 12th-century monastery is steeped in history and offers stunning views. Later, drive to Kaza, the capital of Spiti Valley. Explore the town and settle into your hotel. Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 5: Kaza to Key Monastery & Kibber – The Spiritual Core (Approx. 40 km round trip)

This day is dedicated to the heart of the retreat – the famous Key Monastery (Kye Gompa). Spend quality time at this 11th-century Tibetan Buddhist monastery, perched at 13,668 ft, offering panoramic views of the Spiti Valley. Meditate in the prayer halls, meet resident monks, and soak in the peaceful energy. Later, drive to Kibber Village, one of the highest inhabited villages, and visit the Chicham Bridge – one of Asia’s highest suspension bridges. Return to Kaza. Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 6: Kaza to Chandratal Lake via Kunzum Pass (Approx. 100 km / 6–7 hours)

After breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Chandratal Lake, crossing the iconic Kunzum Pass. Surrounded by Himalayan peaks and known as the "Lake of the Moon", Chandratal is a stunning crescent-shaped high-altitude lake. Enjoy the serenity and spend the night at a campsite near the lake (weather permitting). Overnight in tents near Chandratal.

Day 7: Chandratal to Manali (Approx. 120 km / 6–7 hours)

Leave early for Manali, driving through rugged terrain along the Batal–Gramphu route, then passing through the Atal Tunnel. Reach Manali by evening and relax at your hotel. Explore the Mall Road if time permits or unwind after the journey. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 8: Manali to Chandigarh (Approx. 300 km / 8–9 hours)

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Chandigarh, bringing your spiritual and scenic Spiti Roadway Retreat to a peaceful close. Arrive by evening with unforgettable memories of monasteries, high mountains, and sacred silence.
