Chandigarh to Char Dham Yatra

Day 1: Chandigarh to Haridwar (Approx. 200 km / 5–6 hours)

Begin your Char Dham Yatra with a drive from Chandigarh to the holy city of Haridwar. On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, attend the soul-stirring Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. This spiritual ceremony by the Ganges sets the tone for the pilgrimage. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot (Approx. 180 km / 7–8 hours)

After an early breakfast, drive towards Barkot, a serene hill town that serves as the base for Yamunotri. En route, enjoy beautiful views of the Shivalik ranges. On arrival, check into your hotel or camp and relax amidst nature. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri and back (36 km drive + 6 km trek each way)

Drive from Barkot to Janki Chatti and then begin the 6 km trek to Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River and first of the Char Dham temples. Take a holy dip in the hot water spring at Surya Kund before darshan at Yamunotri Temple. Return to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi (Approx. 100 km / 4–5 hours)

Depart for Uttarkashi, situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. It’s the gateway to Gangotri. On arrival, check in to your hotel. Later, visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the evening. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back (Approx. 100 km each way)

Early in the morning, proceed towards Gangotri, the origin point of the sacred Ganga River. On the way, enjoy stunning Himalayan views and the confluence of rivers. After taking a dip in the holy Bhagirathi River, perform darshan at Gangotri Temple. Return to Uttarkashi for the night.

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (Approx. 220 km / 8–9 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Guptkashi, a spiritual town near Kedarnath. It houses the famous Ardh Narishwar Temple. On arrival, check into your hotel and rest. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath (Drive to Gaurikund + 16 km trek)

After an early breakfast, drive to Gaurikund, the base for the Kedarnath trek. Begin the 16 km trek to Kedarnath (you may opt for pony/doli/helicopter services). Reach the sacred Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, located amidst snow-clad peaks. After darshan, check into your nearby accommodation. Overnight stay in Kedarnath.

Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi (Trek back + drive)

After morning darshan and blessings at Kedarnath, begin the return trek to Gaurikund. From there, drive back to Guptkashi. Check in and rest. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Day 9: Guptkashi to Badrinath (Approx. 220 km / 8–9 hours)

Drive to Badrinath, the last and most revered of the Char Dhams. En route, stop at Joshimath, Vishnuprayag, and other picturesque locations. On arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, visit Badrinath Temple for darshan and participate in the evening aarti. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 10: Badrinath Sightseeing & Drive to Rudraprayag (Approx. 160 km / 6–7 hours)

Start your day with a holy dip in Tapt Kund, followed by morning darshan at Badrinath Temple. After breakfast, visit nearby attractions like Mana Village (the last village before the Indo-Tibetan border), Vyas Gufa, and Bhim Pul. Later, drive to Rudraprayag, the sacred confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 11: Rudraprayag to Haridwar (Approx. 160 km / 6–7 hours)

After breakfast, begin the return drive to Haridwar. On the way, visit Devprayag, the sacred confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers where the Ganga is formed. Arrive in Haridwar by evening and check into your hotel. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 12: Haridwar to Chandigarh (Approx. 200 km / 5–6 hours)

This marks the end of your Char Dham Yatra. After breakfast, start your return journey to Chandigarh with divine memories and blessings from the holy shrines.
