Day 1: Chandigarh to Manali (Approx. 310 km / 8–9 hours)

Begin your adventurous journey with a scenic drive from Chandigarh to Manali. Traverse through the lush landscapes of Himachal, passing Mandi and Kullu along the way. On arrival in Manali, check into your hotel and relax. In the evening, explore Mall Road, local cafés, or visit Hadimba Temple if time permits. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 2: Manali to Jispa via Rohtang Pass & Keylong (Approx. 140 km / 6–7 hours)

After an early breakfast, embark on the Trans-Himalayan route. Cross the famous Rohtang Pass (13,050 ft) and drive through the picturesque Lahaul Valley, stopping at Keylong before reaching Jispa, a peaceful village along the Bhaga River. Rest here to acclimatize and enjoy the calm mountain atmosphere. Overnight stay in Jispa.

Day 3: Jispa to Leh via Sarchu and Tanglang La (Approx. 330 km / 10–11 hours)

Today is one of the most breathtaking drives of the journey. Pass through Baralacha La, Sarchu, Nakee La, and Lachung La, and cruise through the straight stretch of the More Plains. Cross Tanglang La (17,480 ft)—the second-highest motorable pass—and descend into Leh. Upon arrival, check in and rest. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day + Leh Sightseeing

This is a crucial day for acclimatization. Take it easy and explore local sights like the Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Hall of Fame (a war museum). You may also stroll through Leh Market and enjoy a relaxed evening sipping tea at a local café. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (Approx. 130 km / 5–6 hours)

Start early for Nubra Valley, driving over Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft)—the world’s highest motorable road. Descend into the valley of flowers, rivers, and deserts. Explore the Diskit Monastery, visit the Hunder Sand Dunes, and enjoy a camel ride on Bactrian camels. Overnight stay in Hunder or Diskit.

Day 6: Nubra to Turtuk (Optional) or Explore Nubra

You can either relax in Nubra or take an excursion to Turtuk, India’s last village on the Indo-Pak border. Rich in culture and offering mesmerizing views, Turtuk is a hidden gem in Ladakh. Return by evening to Nubra. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 7: Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route (Approx. 200 km / 6–7 hours)

Drive along the scenic Shyok River route to reach the magical Pangong Tso, the high-altitude lake known for its shifting blue hues. Spend your evening soaking in the tranquil beauty of the lake, perfect for photography and stargazing. Overnight stay in camp near Pangong Lake.

Day 8: Pangong Lake to Leh via Chang La (Approx. 160 km / 6 hours)

Wake up early to catch the sunrise at Pangong Lake—an unforgettable experience. Post breakfast, drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass (17,586 ft), one of the world’s highest motorable roads. En route, visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. Check in at your hotel in Leh and rest. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 9: Leh to Sarchu / Jispa (Approx. 250–300 km / 8–9 hours)

Begin your return journey, retracing the majestic landscapes back toward Sarchu or Jispa, depending on road and weather conditions. Enjoy the drive through the More Plains, high passes, and remote Himalayan terrain. Overnight stay in Sarchu or Jispa.

Day 10: Jispa/Sarchu to Manali to Chandigarh (Approx. 350–400 km)

Drive back from Jispa or Sarchu to Manali, crossing Rohtang Pass, and continue your journey toward Chandigarh. Reach by late evening with memories of Ladakh’s monasteries, lakes, valleys, and the thrill of high-altitude road travel.
