Day 1: Arrival in Manali – Gateway to the Himalayas

Arrive in Manali, a charming town nestled in the Kullu Valley. Spend the day exploring the scenic spots like Hadimba Temple, Old Manali, and Mall Road, or simply relax and acclimatize to the altitude. Prepare for your high-altitude journey ahead. Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 2: Manali to Jispa via Rohtang & Baralacha Pass (Approx. 140 km / 6–7 hours)

Post breakfast, begin your thrilling trans-Himalayan drive via Rohtang Pass (13,058 ft) and Baralacha La (16,040 ft). Enjoy the dramatic change in terrain as you enter Lahaul Valley. Reach Jispa, a quiet hamlet on the banks of the Bhaga River. Relax amidst snow-clad peaks and fresh mountain air. Overnight stay in Jispa.

Day 3: Jispa to Leh via Sarchu & Nakee La (Approx. 330 km / 9–10 hours)

Leave early for Leh, passing through Sarchu, Gata Loops, Nakee La, Lachung La, and the breathtaking More Plains. This is one of the most scenic stretches of the journey. Cross Tanglang La (17,480 ft), the second-highest motorable pass in the world. Arrive in Leh by evening. Rest and acclimatize. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 4: Leh – Rest & Local Sightseeing

Take it easy today to adjust to the altitude. Visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Hall of Fame museum. You can also explore the local market for souvenirs like pashmina shawls, Tibetan jewelry, and prayer flags. In the evening, enjoy sunset views from Shanti Stupa. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (Approx. 130 km / 5–6 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), the world’s highest motorable road. Descend into the beautiful desert valley of Nubra, known for its sand dunes and double-humped Bactrian camels. Visit Diskit Monastery and enjoy a camel ride at Hunder Sand Dunes. Overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 6: Nubra to Turtuk (Approx. 90 km / 3 hours one way) – Optional Day Trip

Take an optional excursion to Turtuk, India’s last village on the Indo-Pak border, recently opened for tourism. This beautiful Balti village offers a mix of history, culture, and surreal landscapes. Return to Hunder or Diskit for the night. Overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 7: Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route (Approx. 200 km / 7 hours)

Depart for the mesmerizing Pangong Tso, a crystal-clear high-altitude lake situated at 14,270 ft, stretching between India and China. Take the scenic Shyok River route and witness changing hues of the lake from turquoise to emerald. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful surroundings and starry skies. Overnight stay in a camp near Pangong.

Day 8: Pangong to Leh via Chang La (Approx. 160 km / 6–7 hours)

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over Pangong Lake, a sight you’ll never forget. After breakfast, return to Leh via Chang La Pass (17,586 ft), one of the highest motorable roads. En route, visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. Reach Leh by evening and unwind. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 9: Departure from Leh

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Leh Airport for your return flight, ending your incredible Ladakh Heights journey with unforgettable memories of mountains, passes, and pristine landscapes.
